Although Phuket is a popular safe resort in Thailand, it's best to be aware of emergency numbers when going on vacation. The Russian consulate is located on the island, and, in addition to the main ones, there are many rescue services aimed solely at tourists.

They understand English, and in some cases Russian, and deal with accidents with tourists.
If you are sailing on your own yacht, boat, or other vessel without a local escort, call and let them know when you plan to return. So that if you are absent, the Marine Patrol will raise the alarm.
