The minimum you’ll need to pay is about 30 USD per person — that’s for a shared dormitory in a hostel. A private room costs approximately 70–150 USD per night. Renting an entire apartment starts from around 120 USD per day and goes up depending on the neighborhood and season.
It’s customary in Boston to leave tips for services: 1–2 USD for housekeeping, parking attendants, cloakroom staff, or doormen who call a taxi; and 1–5 USD for porters, depending on the size of your luggage.
