There are plenty of beaches in Vung Tau. But it is not something worth coming to the resort for. The coastal strip is very narrow and often filled with sun loungers with umbrellas, which are rented for 2 USD. Due to the proximity of the Mekong River, which flows into the sea, its waters are quite muddy. In addition, when strong winds and typhoons blow in the winter, a lot of debris rises from the bottom and is carried ashore by the waves. Despite the fact that the beaches are constantly cleaned, it is not possible to get rid of the garbage for a long time.
It is logical to ask which beach is the best to choose in Vungtau. The longest beach in the resort with a length of 8 km is Bai Sao or Back beach. It is the closest to the hotels, but here most of all Vietnamese people gather, especially on weekends. Bai Truoc or Front Beach is located in the city center near the park, but sailors often come here to unload their catch.
Bai Dua Beach or "Pineapple Beach" is spread out by the Lan Rung Hotel. It's rarely visited by locals, perhaps because of the nearby estocade. But if you're looking for the best beaches in Vungtau, we recommend going here.
Bai Zau or "Black Stone" beach, located near the statue of the Virgin Mary, is also good. However, its territory is small and the sea bottom is strewn with small stones. Tourists complain that rats often run along the shore, on the way to the neighboring cafe. But it is the only beach in the city with beautiful scenery, especially at sunset.
