How to get from the airport to Lech

If you are traveling to Leh on your own, the information about the road from the airport will come in handy.

When asking how to get to Lech, many tourists choose the railroad direction. Most of the trains across the Alps run along this line, so you won't have any problems getting there from Innsbruck.

From Langen train station to Lech is 15 kilometers. There is a regular cab and bus service on line 91, with a journey time of no more than half an hour.

From the railway station St. Anton to Lech - 20 km. Regular cab and bus service on line 92 takes from half an hour to 40 minutes.

Car to Innsbruck Airport

If you are traveling to Lech by car, you must have a vignette. This travel sticker is available at all gas stations, near the border and in stores. Vignettes for 10 days, 2 months and 1 year are compulsory on the country's toll autobahns. If you don't have one, you risk a fine. An autobahn vignette for cars costs: for 10 days - 8.50 EUR; for 2 months - 24.80 EUR; for one year - 82.70 EUR.

Some passes may be closed in winter, passes that are open year-round are often out of service after heavy snowfalls. Winter tires are a must in winter.

The speed limit is 130 km/h on autobahns, 100 km/h on regular roads, and 50 km/h in cities. The permissible alcohol level is 0.5 ppm. All passengers must be buckled up and carry signal warning vests. From Innsbruck or Munich, you can get to St. Anton via Landeck, from Switzerland via St. Gallen or Zargans, then via the Arlberg Pass or the tunnel of the same name.

As a motorist, especially on Saturdays during the peak season, it is better to plan your journey so that the distances Feldkirch - Lech and Imst - Lech are covered before 9.30 or after 14.00, otherwise there is a risk of traffic jams.

If leaving Lech, you should be prepared for traffic jams between 10.30 and 15.00. In winter time the roads are often clogged with snow, so you can't do without winter tires. It is recommended to provide snow chains.
