Altfinstermuenz - border fortress. The chapel and the old customs house are glued to the rocks. Two paths cross here. One of them leads from the Lower Engadin. The castle is located in a gorge in the Inn valley. It is a border station on the border of Austria, Italy and Switzerland. Now the owners of the museum are busy restoring it.
There are two ways to reach the Altfinstermuenz: from the Lower Engadin or the Claudia Augusta road, which dates back to Roman times. From here you can also enjoy a panoramic view.
Tickets to the Altfinstermuenz cost around 5 EUR, children under 14 years old can enter the fortress for free.
Looking at the map of Lech and the surrounding area, we can see the Kanzelwandbahn among the sights. There is an interesting hiking route for summer and winter walks. The Kanzelwandbahn is located in the small village of Ritzlern, which belongs to the county of Vorarlberg.
