Baku and snow are almost incompatible concepts. Snowfalls, as well as other precipitation, are extremely rare here. What can't be said about the wind: it blows constantly in Baku (now we understand why the name "Baku" translates as "City of Winds").
The city is located in the zone of temperate continental climate, which is characterized by hot dry summers and short warm winters.
The most favorable weather for rest in Baku is from April to October. At this time the air warms up to +25ºС. However, no matter how rare precipitation may be, before buying an air ticket to Baku, it is not superfluous to familiarize yourself with the weather forecast. It is hottest here in July - the weather is sunny and the sky is without a single cloud. But before traveling to Baku in August you should be on the alert - the weather can bring record +38-40ºС, and it is better to be ready for such a turn of events in advance.
The best time to go to Baku is from April to October. Sunny days, fresh nights, lack of precipitation - ideal conditions for tourists. But before you tell your friends/colleagues the happy news: "I'm going to Baku!", pack a windbreaker or outerwear protecting from wind in your suitcase. In August, when the daytime temperature exceeds +35ºC, you won't need it, but during night walks along the Primorsky Boulevard it will come in handy.
When is it better to go to Baku and is it worth it in winter? Definitely, it is worth it. Unlike other cities, where the impression of a trip can be spoiled by heavy rain or prolonged snowfall, in Baku such a scenario is excluded. Snowfalls are extremely rare here, frosts even more so. So feel free to plan long walking tours.
Baku is equally beautiful in January, June or October. The only thing that can mar the contemplation of beautiful things in October is dried up leaves and grass (high summer temperatures are to blame).
But those who like to splash in warm water should go to Baku in July-August - the coastal part of the Caspian Sea warms up to +25-27ºС. Although in general the resort season in Baku starts in May.
There is no definite answer to the question: "When is it cheaper to go to Baku?", as the prices here are "biting" all year round. But if you still decide to come here in July, book tickets in March - you will save 20-30%.
