The high altitude location of Borovets, as well as the surrounding coniferous forests, keeps the snow cover at 1.5-2 metres during the skiing season. This creates excellent conditions for skiing. The skiing season in Borovets starts in December and ends in mid-May.
There are 18 great ski slopes located at an altitude of 2560 to 1350 metres above sea level. The maximum altitude difference at Borovets ski slopes is 1209 meters. The length of Borovets ski tracks is 60 km. The longest one reaches 12 km. There is an 18 km long cross-country skiing track, two ski jumps 50 and 75 m high.
The resort also offers snowboarding - freeboarding on the slopes and freestyle skiing on special jumps. The snowboard park is widely known and consists of three areas: Pro Lane (for advanced riders, trippers, a 12-metre jumping table), Middle Part (multifunctional area, slopestyle track, jib line) and Beginners Lane (suitable for beginners and children). New terrain is added every year to the park.
The downhill slopes in Borovets are designed for both professionals and beginners and are classified in blue, red and black. There are a total of 3 blue, 13 red and 4 black ski slopes in the resort.
The resort is divided into 4 skiing zones.
Yastrebets (1340-2369 meters above sea level) is the largest skiing area, featuring the longest slope called "Musala Path" spanning 12 kilometers. This area is more suitable for experienced skiers.
Sitnyakovo (1230 meters above sea level) is perfect for children and beginners.
Martinovi Baraki (Borovets Ski Center, 1337-1780 meters above sea level) is a versatile skiing zone suitable for both professionals and beginners. In case of a thaw, there are 6 snow cannons in operation here.
Markudjik (2340-2550 meters above sea level) is the area with the most stable snow cover and is suitable for skiers of all levels.
Skiing is allowed until 21:00. The artificial snow coverage on the resort is 50%.
