We recommend planning your trip between May and October, as this is the bathing season along the peninsula's coastline where Nessebar is located.

It's better to purchase last-minute deals during the summer period. Starting from June, the air temperature rises to 30°C, and the water temperature reaches 26°C.

Upon arrival, we suggest immediately signing up for various sightseeing tours to visit the attractions. Be sure to take a boat trip to see the underwater Nessebar. This ancient city, one of the oldest in Europe, sank into the sea centuries ago, leaving only a small part on land.

The prices for such excursions are reasonable. Guides are willing to offer significant discounts for large groups, so it's better to purchase tour packages to Nessebar with friends and enjoy the vacation together.

Hotel prices in Nessebar vary depending on the category of the establishment and its proximity to the sea. Generally, the cost of accommodation in Nessebar is affordable.

Among the top five-star hotels with all-inclusive service, Sol Nessebar Palace Resort & Aquapark stands out. The cost of a sea-view suite is 335 BGN per night for two adults and two children.

You can significantly reduce your accommodation costs by choosing a three-star hotel. At Hotel St. George, a double room is priced at 90 BGN per night.

If you're traveling with a group, renting an apartment can lead to significant savings. Apartment Crystal Beach, which accommodates four people, is available from 120 BGN per night. The property features its own swimming pool and beach access.

Transfer

The distance from Burgas to Nessebar is 24 km, and the journey takes about 30 minutes. If you have arrived at the resort on your own, you can take a bus (route No. 15) from the bus stop near the airport entrance. The fare (6 BGN) is paid to the conductor on board, so make sure to have some local currency (Bulgarian lev) with you.

Another way to reach the resort is by taking a taxi. It is a more comfortable option but also more expensive. The cost of the taxi ride starts from 60 BGN.

How to get from the airport to Nessebar

Car hire

In the center of the Sunny Beach resort, there are many car rental companies. It is recommended to book a car online as it will be cheaper.

The driver requirements are as follows: minimum age of 21, valid driver's license, and a deposit in cash or on a card (typically around 200 BGN). The cost of renting a car in Nessebar starts from 20 BGN per day for economy class.

Additionally, you can request services such as a driver, special equipment (child seats, ski racks, etc.), and more.

Transport

Nessebar is a small town, and it is possible to explore the entire area on foot, so there is no need for transportation. Regular buses operate between the resort and the famous Sunny Beach (every 15 minutes). The journey takes only 8-10 minutes, and the ticket price is 1.3 BGN.

Intercity buses connect Nessebar with other major cities in Bulgaria. Direct routes are available from Sofia (30 BGN), Varna (13 BGN), and Burgas (6 BGN).
