Unlike the vast majority of Black Sea resorts in Bulgaria, the climate of Nessebar is not purely Mediterranean - it is rather moderate, with pronounced Mediterranean "tendencies".
Rather high summer temperatures are smoothed out by the light sea breeze that is a permanent guest on the local coast. In general the weather in Nessebar is favorable for long walks in the evening and enjoyment of the beach rest during the day.
Flora and Fauna of Nessebar
The mainland part of the city presents guests with the splendid beauty of traditional Bulgarian flora and fauna. The vegetation in Nessebar is predominantly represented by dense coniferous and mixed forests that surround the city's borders. Bulgarian forests are magnificent in their diversity, featuring evergreen pines, mighty oaks, as well as beeches, hornbeams, linden trees, and more.
If you're lucky during a trip to the forest, you might encounter one of the representatives of Nessebar's wildlife. The main inhabitants of these forests are bearded eagles, pheasants, and partridges. Additionally, deer, wildcats, bears, and even wolves can be found in the country, although it's worth noting that the chances of encountering dangerous animals near the popular resort are minimal.
