To diversify your route, take a turn on Eirinis Street. Here you'll find a quiet square where you can relax in the shade and admire the sculptures. There is also a square with many cafes nearby. On the same street there are old and cute houses, and if you walk further to Enoseos Street, you will come across a graceful building, which is the residence of Metropolitan Athanasios of Limassol.
As you head back to the sea, be sure to check out the seaside park, and then take a stroll to the Old Port and pier.
Anyone with a passion for archaeology should visit the ruins of the ancient polis of Amathus and Kourion. It was in Amathus, according to myth, that the courageous Theseus, who defeated the Minotaur, left his beautiful Ariadne. This city from ancient times was a major port and the center of international trade. Here you can find the remains of the Acropolis, with the renewed sanctuary of Aphrodite, as well as ancient Christian basilicas. Kourion was built after the end of the Trojan War. The city was located on a hill and was impregnable to enemies, the only thing that could destroy it was a strong earthquake, which turned it literally into ruins. Not far from Kourion is the Sanctuary of Apollo, where the remains of the Kourium and Paphos Gates have been preserved. To the north of the resort are the picturesque Troodos Mountains with ancient monasteries hidden in pine forests.
