It would seem that the unambiguous time when it is best to go to Greece should be considered summer. After all, Greece is the land of three seas and countless beaches. But that's not the case. You can safely go to Greece at any time of the year, and guaranteed to enjoy the trip. The main thing is to decide what you are traveling for. The high season in Greece runs from June to September. This is when most tourists come here. But that doesn't mean that the summer months are the best time to vacation in Greece. In July and August in the country is too hot, on the beaches and on excursions, the sea of tourists, and prices skyrocket. So hardly such a vacation can be called ideal.
But a trip in late May - early June and September - October will guarantee you a great beach vacation. And from November to April you can safely storm the ski resorts. And of course, excursions and walks through museums in Greece are good at any time of the year. And thermal resorts are waiting all year round for guests wishing to improve their health.

Winter does not seem to exist in Greece in the sense of the inhabitants of cold latitudes. The weather in Greece in winter is warm and rainy. The temperature ranges from +5 to +13°C in different regions of the country. In winter time there is quite a strong wind. But even with such unkind weather the landscapes of Greece look very romantic and even get additional charm. And no weather can stop you from strolling through museums and relaxing in spa resorts.

The weather in Greece in spring is very warm. As early as March, temperatures can sometimes reach +19°C. May is like summer, but without the excruciating heat. All spring in Greece lasts a period of blossoming. Wild flowers blossom, and even the driest regions are covered with greenery. Fruit trees are in full bloom. The peak of blossoming is in April. Spring is the best time for a romantic trip to Greece for two. You can admire the blossoming trees at the same time with a tour of ancient temples and Byzantine churches. Holidays in Greece in summer
The best time to fly to Greece in summer is the first half of June. It is already warm, even hot, from +25 to +30°C, the sea has warmed up to a comfortable temperature, and the beaches of the Peloponnese, the islands Rhodes, Crete, the Ionian Islands and many others are waiting for tourists. But the heat is not yet reaching the upper points, as in July and August, when the weather in Greece in the summer becomes extremely hot. At a temperature of +45°C even the sea is already on the rescue, and excursions at this time cause more fatigue than interest. Even the sea does not save well.
That's why it's better to go to Greece in July, so you can avoid the crowds, the high prices and the heat. And if you are going on vacation in the second half of summer, it is better to go to the north of the country. Here it is cooler, and the traditional summer sales are not less active. You can also head to one of the country's thermal resorts, where you can relax at any time of year.

The weather in Greece in the fall is very similar to summer weather. You can swim here until mid-October, and on the southern islands of Rhodes and Crete it's almost November. At the same time, the heat subsides, the air becomes dry and warm, which is ideal for swimming, sightseeing and resting at spa resorts. In mid-October - November the rains begin and it becomes quite cool. But Greece remains a picturesque and charming place. And November is also when the ski season opens in many resorts.
