In the eastern part of the city the beaches are more rocky, cleaner and popular with locals. One of Genoa's favourite attractions for children and adults is Bagni Nuovo Lido. It is a small amusement park, or rather a sports centre on the beach, where you can go scuba diving or water skiing. At Parchi di Nervi you can rent a bike or have a picnic.
Genoa's nightlife is vibrant with students and creative young people. The bars don't usually open until 6 p.m. and close around 2 a.m. The most popular are Barbarossa, Britannia Pub (said to have the best selection of beers in Genoa), Le Courbusier (more like a coffee bar). The biggest and noisiest discos are in the coastal area. Some of the best nightclubs in Genoa are the Louisiana Jazz Club, Mako Discotheque and the Latin Vanilla.
