The Cristoforo Colombo International Airport, also known as Genoa Airport, is located 7 kilometers from the city center. The airport terminal is situated on the artificial peninsula of Sestri Ponente and serves over 1.3 million people per year.
Getting to the City Center

Train
You can reach the city center, the central train station, as well as other cities in Italy and France by train.
The nearest train station called Genova Sestri Ponente Aeroporto is located 1.5 kilometers from the airport. To get to the station, you need to take the SP buses or i24. The bus stop is located near the entrance to the terminal. The bus ride is free of charge. Tickets can be purchased at the airport on the ground floor or on the website of the Italian railway.

Transfer

Taxi
The taxi stand is located near the exit of the terminal. Finding a taxi is easy as they are painted in bright yellow or white. The taxi companies Gexi, Prenotaxi, and Radiotaxi operate within the airport.
Fare: Starting from 22 EUR per car (1-3 passengers)
Note: The taxi fare depends on many factors such as luggage, number of passengers, and increases during holidays and weekends. There is even an additional fee of 2.5 EUR for boarding at the airport.
Car Rental
Rental counters are located right inside the airport building, so you can arrange car rental on the spot. However, it is better to book a car online on various services as it will be cheaper, and you can choose a car in advance.
