A sightseeing tour of the island of Ischia begins in Ischia Ponte or Ischia Porto — depending on where you are staying. The cost of a tour from Ischia Ponte is 30–55 EUR, depending on the route and the number of attractions you plan to visit. Most of the journey is by bus: although the island is quite small, a bus tour from Ischia Ponte to Forio and back takes at least 4–5 hours.
All tours from Ischia Ponte include a visit to the Aragonese Castle and other landmarks of the island. Ischia is encircled by a scenic road that links six towns into one chain: Ischia Ponte, Casamicciola Terme, Lacco Ameno, Forio, Serrara Fontana, and Barano.
While staying in the town of Forio, you will be shown a panoramic viewpoint overlooking Citara Bay and the thermal Poseidon Gardens. The historic fishing village of Sant’Angelo is also well worth a visit.
