Puerto del Carmen is a great place for families. This is evidenced by the hotel infrastructure with heated swimming pools and children's playgrounds for kids of all ages.
Guinate Tropical Park
For children and nature lovers, Lanzarote is home to the Guinate Tropical Park. It is home to around 1,300 rare and exotic birds and has a pool with penguins and other animals, including monkeys and meerkats. It also hosts parrot shows. Just outside the park is the free El Rio observation deck, which offers great views of the islands.
The park is located in the town of the same name, about 5 kilometers south of Mirador del Rio.
The entrance fee for an adult is 14 EUR and for a child 6 EUR. The park is open from 10:00 to 17:00.
Horse Riding
Another form of entertainment in Puerto del Carmen is horseback riding. Horseback riding is organized by Lanzarote Caballo. Also, children may be interested in riding camels and ponies.
The cost of a 2-hour hippotherapy session is 50 EUR. Rides are available from 10:00 to 18:00.
Cycling
Explore Puerto del Carmen's neighborhoods on bicycles, which are available for rent from local company "Renner." The office is located in the Maritimu shopping center on the main street.
