It's worth remembering the famous Negro and Latino gangs of Los Angeles to keep your eyes open when traveling around the city. Try to travel within respectable, safe neighborhoods (including Hollywood, Beverly Hills, Santa Monica and other beach areas) and stay out of Negro and immigrant neighborhoods.

Thieves often operate in tourist areas, and in the evenings, drug addicts and drug dealers can be found near clubs. Exercise reasonable caution when dealing with strangers and keep an eye on valuables.
