Going to the City of Angels in summer, it makes no sense to ask about the weather in Los Angeles for 14 days ahead: from May to September it is almost always dry and warm. In the summer season, rain is extremely rare, and the average temperature stays within +30°C.
Of course, the weather forecast in Los Angeles often promises heat even higher than this value, but in the coastal areas of the city it is not so hard to bear thanks to refreshing breezes from the Pacific Ocean.
By the way, the same breezes bring warmth to the coast in winter: the average temperature in the cold season is usually +15-17°C. Going to California in February, you should still ask about the weather in Los Angeles for a week, as this is the wettest month of the year, and prolonged rains can spoil your vacation. March is the rainiest of the spring months, and November is the rainiest of the fall months.
If you are going to ski in the mountains during your trip, check the weather in Los Angeles for 3 days: in winter, snow falls regularly in the mountainous areas, but does not lie permanently. Nevertheless, it is really possible to sunbathe on the beach and play snowballs on the same day, because the coastal part of the city has a tropical climate, the San Fernando Valley has a continental climate, and the mountains have a mountain climate.
However, a sharp change of weather conditions is not typical for this region, so it is enough to know the weather in Los Angeles for 5 days - and you can safely go on your way.
Is it worth going to Los Angeles in the summer?
The beauty of the City of Angels is that summer reigns practically all year round, because even in January the air often warms up to +20°C during the day. So you can safely say "I'm going to Los Angeles!" at almost any time of the year. However, locals consider the first half of summer as the time when it is better to go to Los Angeles, based on climatic conditions. The fact is that at the end of summer it is sweltering, and the heat above +30°C can last until October.
When is it cheaper to travel to Los Angeles? Summer is considered the "high" season in California, which, naturally, affects prices. Therefore, as an alternative, you should consider the second half of spring, late fall or the first half of winter, when pleasant weather conditions are combined with relatively low prices.
