After dark, it is not recommended to walk around Downtown or the city outskirts. Caution is also advised in the neighborhoods of Liberty City, Overtown, and Little Havana, especially if you are traveling alone. As in any large metropolis, there are areas with higher crime rates.
Keep your documents and money in a safe place, and avoid displaying large amounts of cash or wearing expensive jewelry. Do not leave your belongings unattended on the beach.
