The resort was built no more than 60 years ago, so the main attractions of Ruka are the unspoiled majestic nature of the region. Three hills Ruka, Valtavaara and Pihavaara are located not far from the resort. Along them runs the famous 80-kilometer tourist route "Bear Trail".
