Besides alpine and cross-country skiing, there are other activities in Ruka. For example, you can take a walk on snowshoes or in a reindeer or dog sled. Here you will be offered ice-hole bathing, winter diving, go-karting, fishing under the ice, snowmobile safari. The resort has a freestyle center with a high-class mogul track, and in the season acrobatic jumps and a ski-cross track are installed here.
If you are tired of snow and skiing, you can visit the Kumpare shopping center, which is located in the heart of the resort. There is a gym, swimming pool, massage parlor, bowling alley, and a children's room. Not to mention numerous stores, restaurants and cafes.
For bright impressions you can go to the neighboring city of Kuusamo (25 km from Ruka), where a large water park of Holiday Club Kuusamo hotel works. In addition to water entertainment, it offers Turkish and Finnish saunas, a swimming pool and a Jacuzzi.
