The main feature of Deauville's temperate maritime climate is its mild winters and mild summers. The seasons are not pronounced. Winter months are more like traditional autumn with a lot of precipitation. There is practically no snow cover in the resort.

Deauville's fauna is very diverse, although you won't find large ungulates and predators here anymore. The richest fauna is in the mountains. If you are lucky, you may see the peacock's eye butterfly, which is one of Deauville's most unique species. Its wingspan reaches 15 centimeters.
