Shopping in Jerusalem

The most popular shopping areas in Israel include:

• Ben Yehuda pedestrian street: souvenir shops with Dead Sea cosmetics, jewelry, toys, etc.
• Malha Mall (Rabin Highway) is the largest shopping center in Jerusalem. There are more than a hundred stores of world brands (Zara, Mango, Castro);
• Talpiot - the most prestigious shopping area in Jerusalem with huge shopping centers "Hadar", "Lion Talpiot" and outlet malls;
• Nahalat Shiva pedestrian street: shops with authentic souvenirs and original artworks by Jerusalem artisans;
• Mahane Yehuda Market (Agrippa Street). It is worth coming here for the atmosphere: the real trade, the specific language of the vendors, the flavorful falafel and shawarma - you will not see this anywhere else.

Most Israeli stores and outlet stores near Jerusalem are open from 9:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m. (Mon-Fri), 9:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. or 3:30 p.m. (Fri). Muslim stores are not open on Friday, and Christian stores are not open on Sunday.

What to bring from Jerusalem:

• The menorah is a candlestick, a symbol of all Israeli culture. According to legend, the first menorah was made by Jesus Christ himself;
• Mezuzah - a scroll with the texts of prayers, made of the skin of kosher animals (an Israeli amulet);
• Armenian ceramics - can be bought at the Zion Gate;
• Dead Sea cosmetics.
