Netanya's vegetation and animal life
A big plus of Netanya is its beautiful gardens and parks with citrus vegetation as well as various animals. Thanks to them, Netanya is called "the green oasis of Israel".
The city has a "Bird Garden", which resembles a paradise, because here, in the eucalyptus grove lives a huge number of birds of different species, whose singing is simply mesmerizing. Children will like this garden very much. There are many original sculptures, among which a giant bird with three chicks and five huge eggs stands out. You can climb up the ladder and slide down the slide.
Netanya also has an amazing "Sycamore Garden", which is set around a sycamore tree. This tree is extraordinary - the diameter of its trunk reaches 8 meters. According to history, it is believed to be the oldest tree in the country - it is over a thousand years old!
On the outskirts of Netanya there is a very beautiful purple iris reserve. The best time to visit it is from February to the end of March.
There are also other nature preserves and fish hatcheries near the resort.
There's even a parrot farm. It is located in the Tel Mond neighborhood, a 20-minute drive from Netanya. A visit to this nursery is something the whole family will enjoy.
The Mishmeret moshav has an apiary where you can learn about the magical world of bees.
It's also worth a trip to the Nahal Alexander Nature Reserve, north of Netanya. From there, it's a short walk to another reserve, Beitan Aharon.
