Ben-Gurion International Airport is Israel's main air gateway. The air terminal has a passenger turnover of more than 20 million people.
How to get to the city center
The airport is 51 kilometers from Netanya, Israel's largest resort. By shuttle or cab, you will get there in 45 to 50 minutes.
Public transportation
The airport's transportation system is excellent, making it easy to get to Netanya.
Important! From Friday afternoon to Saturday evening is Shabbat, and public transportation is not available during this time.
Bus
To get to Netanya by bus, you need to make a transfer. First, you need to get to El Al Junction station, which is located in Terminal 3. The No. 5 or No. 5A shuttle from Egged will take you there. Check the bus schedule here.
- Where to find the shuttle stop: Located to the right of the exit on the second floor of the third terminal. (Exits 21 and 23).
- Trip time: 15 minutes.
- Operation time of the Shuttle: from 05:00 to 21:00, runs every 10-30 minutes on weekdays. From 05:40 to 16:00 on Fridays and from 19:00 to 23:50 on Saturdays.
- Fare: 5 ILS. You can buy the ticket from the driver.
After taking the shuttle to the El Al Junction stop, take bus #947 (runs from Haifa to Jerusalem via Netanya) or #950 (runs from Jerusalem to Netanya). The buses run to Netanya's bus station (Central Bus Station).
- Operation time: from 07:00 to 22:30, running every 30-40 minutes on weekdays. 07:00 to 16:15 on Fridays and 19:30 to 00:00 on Saturdays.
- Travel time: about 1.5 hours.
- Ticket cost: 27 ILS. Payable to the driver.
Important tips:
- You should only enter the bus through the front door.
- There is a special place for luggage. There is no extra charge.
Train
Direct trains run from the airport to Netanya every hour in the evening and at night from 22:30 to 04:30. The ride is about 40-50 minutes. If you fly in the daytime, you will have to travel with connections. You can find all the information you need about train traffic and fares on the Israeli Railways website.
From the airport train station, take the 4 stops to Tel Aviv University Station. At the same platform take a train to Netanya Samir railway station.
- Where to find it: The train station is on the left side of the third terminal exit.
- Trip time: 54 minutes.
- Ticket price: 24.5 ILS. You can purchase your ticket at the station at the ticket office, at a machine inside the airport, or online. Do not discard the ticket before arriving at your destination.
Tip! From Netanya train station you can get to the center by buses #5 or #25, they run until 23:00.
Transfers
If you have a lot of luggage or you are traveling with a child, it is best to order a shuttle. The driver knows Russian and will be waiting for you with a nameplate. You can book a transfer on the KiwiTaxi website.
Fare: from 353 ILS for four passengers.
Taxi
The cab stop is to the left of the Terminal 3 exit. Look for a white-colored cab. Watch for the driver to turn on the meter.
Cost: from 283 ILS. From 21:00 to 05:30, the price is 25% higher. You have to pay extra for luggage too - 2.9 ILS. You have to pay in local currency only.
Rent a Car
If you want to explore Israel thoroughly, rent a car. Car rental desks are located at the airport. It's best to rent a car in advance on a website (such as rentalcars) - this will save you 17% of the cost, as you won't have to pay VAT in Israel.

How to Get to the Bus and Train Station
- To the bus station (Central Bus Station) you can take a connecting bus to Tel Aviv.
- The Netanya Samir railway station is accessible by train from Tel Aviv railway station.
