Beaches in Catania: the breadth of local beaches and their coverage

All the beaches of Catania are divided into two types: sandy and rocky.

The first type includes the beach area La Playa, which stretches along the coast for 18 kilometers. This place is ideal for family vacations with children in Catania. Here soft golden sand and a comfortable entrance to the sea. La Playa has all the necessary tourist infrastructure. For a fee, you can take a sun lounger, umbrella, ride on water rides. There are plenty of nice restaurants and cafes near the beach.

If you want to walk along the shore, go to the end of La Playa (move from the city center). You will find yourself on the so-called Cyclops Coast, where the soft sand ends and dark volcanic rocks begin. The scenery is very unusual and exotic.

Li Cuti is also a rocky beach. It is very popular with the Catanians themselves, as it is rarely visited by tourists. The beach is much larger than La Playa. It is completely covered with solidified lava, so going into the sea is not quite convenient and unsafe (it is easy to slip on smooth stones). There is no infrastructure here: everyone rests "savages".

What beach in Catania is better, you decide. It all depends on what you like more: comfort or exoticism.
