Travelers who decide to save time and arrive via Naples will be warmly welcomed by Naples Capodichino Airport, originally built back in 1910.
It began as an airfield and later became a military base. The airport was converted for civilian use in the 1960s, although it still serves as an airbase for five divisions of the Italian Air Force.
The airport has two terminals located at a considerable distance from each other. The main one is Terminal 1, while Terminal 2 is usually used for charter flights.
The terminal includes bank branches, a post office, currency exchange points, a medical center, free Wi-Fi, cafés, and car rental offices.
You can view the airport’s transportation map here.
Those traveling from Rome arrive after a four-hour flight at Leonardo da Vinci–Fiumicino Airport, located 30 km from the city. Alternatively, some charter flights land at Ciampino Airport, which is just 15 km from the Italian capital.
