Tourists who decide to save their time and take a flight to Naples will be welcomed by Naples Capodichini Airport, which was built back in 1910.
At first it was an airfield, then a military base. The airport was rebuilt to serve civilian flights in the 1960s, although it remains today a military air base for the five Italian air forces.
The airport has two terminals, which are a considerable distance away. The main terminal is Terminal 1, while Terminal 2 is normally used for charter flights.
The terminal has bank branches, post office, currency exchange, medical centre, free Wi-Fi, cafes and car rental offices.
You can find a map of the traffic at the airport here.
If you decide to travel from Rome, after a 4 hour flight, you will arrive at Leonardo da Vinci di Fiumicino airport, about 30 km away. Or Ciampino Airport where some charter flights arrive. It is just 15 km from the Italian capital.
