There are no special rules for safety in Ghatia. The quiet and tranquil resort is not known for riots, insurrections or unsafe crime scenes. So here are just a few things to consider before you go.
Firstly, as in any other trip take care of your money and documents. Preferably keep them in different places and additionally take a copy of your passport. Also be careful in crowded places on excursions, don't leave money in your back pocket.
Also, take note that siesta starts in the afternoon and all establishments close for a temporary break.
A special rule for female travellers: don't go on holiday alone, unless you want to suffer the pestering attention of local men.
