Given the resort’s distance from busy highways and airports, getting there can be challenging. For example, traveling from Naples to Positano requires a transfer.
There are several route options to reach this long-awaited destination.
1. By bus: airport — Sorrento — Positano. The total cost for two people is around 30 EUR.
First, take a direct bus from the airport to Sorrento (final stop — Sorrento railway station). Tickets can be purchased on the bus for 10 EUR per person. Schedule — here. Travel time — about 1 hour 15 minutes.
At the final stop, buy a ticket to Positano (4 EUR) in the station bar for the SITA bus heading to Amalfi. Don’t forget to validate your ticket after boarding. During the 30-minute ride, you’ll enjoy stunning views of the Amalfi Coast.
The Positano stop is near the Internazionale bar.
2. Alternatively, travel from Naples Airport to the city’s main train station, then take a train to Sorrento, followed by a bus to Positano. This journey costs about 24 EUR for two but takes more time.
From the airport, take the ALIBUS city bus, which stops slightly ahead of the arrivals exit. It runs every 20–30 minutes via Naples Central Station (Piazza Garibaldi), with its final stop at the port (Piazza Municipio). Tickets cost 5 EUR and are valid for 90 minutes. Travel time to the station is about 20–25 minutes.
At the station, follow the signs to the Circumvesuviana commuter train. The station is downstairs, below the main building — go down near track 13, then turn left. Ticket offices are located near the metro entrance. Buy a ticket (4.10 EUR) and check the train schedule. Trains to Sorrento run every 30 minutes. Travel time is about 1 hour 10 minutes, with scenic views of Vesuvius, Pompeii, the Bay of Naples, and even the island of Capri.

3. For those who prefer comfort, a taxi from Naples Airport to Positano costs around 160 EUR.
