Traditional beach activities in Rapallo can be combined with visits to and participation in the various festivals that take place in the spa town each year. The most important festival for locals is the Feast of the Sign of the Virgin Mary on 2 July, when a procession is held through the town to the church. During the summer, concerts and performances take place in the former convent of Clarissa. In addition, during the summer there are open-air film screenings in the town's park, Villa Tigullio.
The adult entertainment at Rapallo is at its best during the weekends, when there are festivals, open-air fairs, concerts, and sailing boats in the bay.
Rapallo's nightlife is buzzing along the coastline, with numerous beach bars and discos. A romantic walk in the tranquil atmosphere of the night can culminate in a dance party at one of the discos. During the summer months, the Rapallo beachside nightclubs provide a haven for young Italians and international travellers alike.
In addition to the thriving nightlife at Rapallo, golf is an active pastime. The tennis and golf club is the jewel in the crown of the Tigullio area. The sports club was opened in the 1930s and is considered one of the most beautiful and fascinating of Italy's golf courses. It has facilities for people with disabilities (click here for more information).
