If you want to combine a beach holiday in Rimini with sightseeing, it's worth taking a walking tour. You can easily organize it yourself, without the help of local guides.
In the historic city center, you can see buildings and monuments from the time of the Roman Empire. A walking route through Rimini should start at the Tiberius Bridge (Ponte di Tiberio), which was built as early as 21 AD. After exploring this ancient Roman structure, head toward the Piazza Tre Martiri. This spot once hosted the Roman forum. Then, you can visit another historic site — the Surgeon’s House (Domus del Chirurgo).
To better appreciate the architecture, you should also walk to the Church of Saint Augustine (Chiesa di Sant’Agostino), the Castel Sismondo, and the Palazzo Gambalunga.
But the best way to feel the atmosphere of the city is simply to wander aimlessly through the old streets of Rimini.
