The city is literally full of bars, restaurants, boutiques, beauty salons. You can lounge on the beach and do water sports here. There is also an excellent golf course and tennis courts, bicycle rentals.
Among the activities in this resort - long leisurely walks, beach holidays, shopping. There are no amusement parks in Viareggio, but you can go to Pisa or Florence.
Every year the following important events take place in Viareggio: The Italian Carnival with plays, masquerade, gastronomic feasts (winter); EUROPA CINEMA, one of the most prestigious film festivals in Europe; Puccini Festival of Classical Music (July-August).
Viareggio in Italy is a modern resort with an active nightlife: after dark the town is ablaze with bright lights, hundreds of tourists party in the streets until early morning. The most popular nightclubs in Viareggio are Bagno Balena and La Capannina. If the local discos eventually get bored, you can go to the neighboring Forte dei Marmi, where there is a trendy club Twiga.
