Shopping in Almería takes place in city shopping centres, along the pedestrian streets of the historic centre, and in small boutiques. While you should not expect a large number of luxury stores, popular international and Spanish brands are represented, along with local designer shops. The main shopping streets are concentrated around Paseo de Almería, where you can find stores selling clothing, footwear, accessories, and cosmetics. Many shopping centres offer discounts on summer-season items from 1 July to 31 August.
Among the most popular shopping venues, tourists highlight the Torrecárdenas and Mediterráneo shopping centres, which feature stores such as Zara, Mango, Pull&Bear, Bershka, and other well-known brands. For souvenirs and local products, head to the Central Market, Mercado Central de Almería, where jamón, cheeses, olive oil, and traditional Spanish sweets are sold.
Seasonal sales take place twice a year, with the biggest discounts on summer collections usually available from early July to late August. Shops in Almería generally open around 09:30–10:00 and operate until 20:30. Large supermarkets close later — at approximately 21:00–22:00 — while small boutiques and family-run stores may close for a siesta in the middle of the day.
