If you're in the city in the "low" season or you're just tired of going to the sea, we recommend taking the kids to one of the many parks and museums.
Science Museum
Museum of Science (Museo de las Ciencias Principe Felipe) is part of the City of Arts and Sciences.
What's the beauty of this museum? You can and even should touch the exhibits - young visitors will be shown themed interactive exhibitions, take a course as a young astronaut and even see a chick hatching from an egg!
Oceanarium
Another exciting attraction for kids in Valencia is the Oceanarium (it's also in the City of Arts and Sciences). It's a huge complex of themed pavilions where you can see dolphins and stingrays, and walk through a transparent tunnel under a shark tank.
Beach vacations with kids
From May to October, the most popular activity in Valencia for adults and children is
seaside vacations. The city beach Playa dela Malvarrossa is equipped with everything you need - there are showers and toilets, bars and children's playgrounds. Cleanliness of the beach - under constant control of the authorities. You can learn to surf at the Valencia Surf Club or go kiteboarding.
Terra Mitica Amusement Park
Make time to visit Valencia's most famous amusement park Terra Mitica in the city's resort satellite, Benidorm. The park has several themed areas (e.g. Rome, Greece, Iberia) and plenty of original attractions like the Minotaur Maze or Odysseus' ship.
City parks
Other attractions for children in Valencia include
Parque Guliver (a free playground in the form of a giant lying on the ground, located in the Turia Gardens) and
Parque de Cabecera, where you can ride on boats shaped like swans.
