The weather conditions in this area have much in common with Dubai, but Sharjah's climate has some peculiarities. These include slightly colder winters and a relatively low oxygen content in the air. The daily temperature fluctuations in this region are relatively small, usually at 5-8 degrees Celsius.
Rainy seasons in Sharjah
Rainfall in Sharjah occurs mainly in February and March, so the end of winter is considered to be the period when the Sharjah rainy season begins. However, this is not the rainy season in the literal sense, but simply a time when the region receives more rainfall than usual. This is also the time when tropical storms occur. It also rains relatively often in December.
The vegetation and fauna of Sharjah
The vegetation of Sharjah is the same as the rest of the region. The oases and parklands are mostly date palms and acacia trees, while the desert is mostly grasses and shrubs. Animal life is more diverse and includes some rare species (e.g. the South Arabian leopard and the Arabian oryx).
If you want to get a closer look at the local flora and fauna, visit the unique Wildlife Centre and Desert Park, located 30 kilometers from the city.
Sharjah's underwater plant and animal life is extremely rich and diverse. It's not for nothing that this area is a diver's favorite! You can enjoy the beauty of the amazing coral reefs and witness the life of their many inhabitants on a snorkeling trip.
