Lovers of hiking and museums should definitely visit the Mereja district. There are many museums here, as well as many old buildings and structures, including a fort built in the XIX century. Referred to as the Emirates' premier museum, Merejah is one of Sharjah's main historical attractions.
You can stroll through Sharjah National Park (63 hectares). Its main attraction is a miniature version of the city "Sharjah in Miniature", which consists of famous city buildings and Khalid Lagoon. Also within the park is the 'Tunnel of Fear', through which some of the bicycle paths pass.
Please note that women are not allowed to take pictures in Sharjah, and to take a picture of a cultural or religious site, you need to get permission from its staff.
