Water temperature in Split
The Split area has higher water temperatures in the Adriatic Sea than the rest of the coastal resorts. This is due to the large forests that stop cold winds and the ring of archipelagos surrounding the Marjan peninsula.
In winter the sea temperature near Split is +10-15°C, in April and May it is still quite cold - about +18°C, but in early June it warms up to +20-23°C. The highest temperature of the Adriatic Sea in this area is recorded in July-September - up to +26°C. You can swim until the last days of October. Even when the land is already cool, the Adriatic Sea in this area "keeps" the temperature of +20-22 ° C. The water cools down to +17-19°C only at the end of October and beginning of November.
