Water temperature in Rethymnon
The hottest months in Rethymno are July and August - the water temperature in Rethymno rarely drops below +27°C. Accordingly, the sea in the resort is warmest in these months, although in June and September the water is also very warm - around +25°C.
By the end of October, the water gradually cools down to +18-20°C. In winter, the temperature in the Mediterranean drops to +15-18°C.
At the end of May the water temperature in the Mediterranean Sea off Rethymno is comfortable enough to open a full beach season (around +20-22°C). So at the end of April you can happily tell everyone around you: "I'm going to Rethymno!".
