August is the hottest month in Funchal, with temperatures rarely dropping below +25°C. Accordingly, the sea is warmest in the resort in this month, although in June and September the water is also warm - around +22°C. From the beginning of October, the water gradually cools down and in November is +18-20 ° C.
In winter, the temperature in the Atlantic Ocean drops to +15-17°C. In early June, the water temperature in the Atlantic Ocean is already high enough to open a full beach season (around +20-22°C). So in the middle of May you can happily tell everyone around you: "I'm going to Funchal!".
