Water temperature in Kos
The most impatient can open the swimming season as early as May, when the waves in the Aegean Sea warm up to +20-22°C. The maximum sea temperature is in August, up to +24°C.
The beach season is long enough to end only at the end of October, by which time the sea cools to +19°C. By the way, the velvet season in Kos lasts from late September to early November.
In winter, swimming is out of the question - the water temperature is a maximum of +15-16°C.
But the tides in the Aegean Sea near Kos are not felt (the change in water level on the coast is a few centimeters), and the water near the coast often has a bright turquoise color and a high degree of transparency.
