Beaches in Mykonos

Review of the best beaches in Mykonos: we'll tell you which one is best.

Mykonos is considered one of the most liberated resort islands in Greece - there are so many nudist beaches here for a reason. And yet every year they are awarded the EU Blue Flag, the highest award for cleanliness and environmental friendliness. The beaches of Mykonos are mostly covered with pebbles or sand. The best of them are considered to be those located on the southern shore - in this side there is almost no wind. It's up to you to decide which beach in Mykonos is best (incidentally, they're all municipal):

Paradise is a hub for partygoers of all ages. They party nude by day (the beach is nudist) and party on the dance floor of the Cavo Paradiso club by night. To maintain the atmosphere on the beach there are MTV screens on 24 hours a day. And for sexual minorities there is a beach of its own - Super Paradise. Prices on Mykonos beach are quite high: for a couple of sun beds with an umbrella you will have to pay about 12-15 EUR per day.

Paranga is a place of pilgrimage for nudists from all over the world, located 5 minutes (by boat) from Paradise Beach. To make everyone feel at ease, the administration of the beach has divided it into two zones - quiet and noisy. The former is usually reserved for those who want to be alone with nature, the latter for those who want to party, especially in summer, when the Kalua Beach Bar hosts mega-parties from 5pm.

Platis Yalos beach

Platis Yalos and Psarou are the beaches for family vacations with children in Mykonos. Here there is everything that only the most demanding tourist can need: cafes and restaurants, diving center, picturesque landscapes. True, if the above beaches with sun beds and umbrellas no problem, then here they can be booked only through your hotel a day in advance. From the tourist center you can get to the beach by bus (price - about 2 EUR).

For those who are tired of noisy company and raucous fun, Mykonos has secluded beaches and resorts: the cliff-surrounded Elia (gays also like it), the quiet and peaceful Agrari, the windswept bay with the amazing sandy beach of Ornos. But the cleanest and perhaps the most tranquil is Agios Ioannis beach, which offers stunning views of Dilos.

For thrill-seekers, head to the north of the island. There's always a strong wind, so windsurfing and other water activities are always a great way to enjoy a session.
