In Zakopane and its surroundings, there are more than 10 ski resorts. The most popular ones are Gubalowka, Nosal, and Kasprowy Wierch. There is no unified pass; each skiing area operates with a separate ski pass. Free transportation for guests is also not available, but regular buses and minibusses run between the lower stations of the lifts.
Kasprowy Wierch (1985 meters above sea level) is suitable for experienced skiers and snowboarders. It predominantly offers challenging slopes, with the longest slope stretching over 9 kilometers. The vertical drop is 940 meters. Three lifts transport athletes to the top of the mountain.
Gubalowka (1120 meters above sea level) is accessible via a funicular starting from the center of Zakopane. It features six slopes designed for different skill levels. There is also a half-pipe for snowboarders.
The Nosal area (1206 meters above sea level) houses one of the best slalom runs in Poland certified by FIS. Additionally, there are five gentle slopes for beginners with a maximum vertical drop of 33 meters.
All resorts are equipped with snow cannons, equipment rental services, ski schools, and cafes. The slopes are illuminated during the evening hours everywhere except in the center of Kasprowy Wierch.
