Elevators in Zakopane

All ski complexes in Zakopane have an extensive system of skier transportation. All complexes in Zakopane have 21 ski elevators, of which 13 are rope tow lifts, 6 chairlifts, 1 cable car and 1 cabin lift.

The cable car to Kasprowy Wierch is approximately 4,295 m long and includes two stages with a transfer. The price for the ascent starts from 89 PLN one way and up to 149 PLN for a round-trip ticket, depending on the season and purchase method. A funicular operates on Gubałówka (capacity — 112 people), with departures every 10–15 minutes.

The price for ski lift access in Zakopane starts from 79 PLN for drag and chair lifts, and from 37 PLN for the funicular. Other slopes are also served by drag and chair lifts. Detailed pricing for each ski area can be found on the official Zakopane website.

It’s worth noting that one of Zakopane’s drawbacks is the lack of a ski bus system. City buses only go as far as the lower lift stations. To reach other ski areas, tourists need to use a car or taxi.
