According to meteorological data from the past three years, the warmest sea water in Sanremo is in August, July, and September: in July and August — +23–24 °C, in September — up to +22 °C. From December to March, the Mediterranean Sea temperature near Sanremo is about +13–14 °C, and in April and early May — up to +15–17 °C.
Thanks to the abundance of breakwaters on the beaches, the waves of the Mediterranean Sea in Sanremo remain mild even during storms. Tides are barely noticeable: in the morning, the water level may be 25–45 centimeters lower.
The swimming season in Sanremo lasts from mid-June to late September. During this time, the air temperature ranges between +25 and +30 °C, and the sea remains warm and pleasant. Many tourists continue sunbathing even in October when the sea cools down but the sun still shines warmly.
