Summer vacation in La Baule is sure to be remembered not only for swimming and sunbathing, visiting nightclubs and casinos, thalassotherapy sessions and walks along the sandy promenade, but also for participating in the medieval festival held in the castle of Guérande. In April, for example, you can visit the festival "Theatre Spring", in August - the festival of Celtic culture Les Celtiques de Guérande (plays, concerts, Breton dances and songs, open classes of Breton dances), in October you can feel the palette of tastes during the festival of the same name, in November - expand your horizons during the Brittany Book Festival.
La Baule's most popular events include:
- Writers on the Coast Festival (held during the first two weeks of July): 5 days of various literary events, including meetings with writers. The venue is the Chapel of St. Anne, Place Leclerc. Entrance is free;
- "Musical Moments": a festival founded by Renné Martand, a native of Nantes;
- Jazz Festival (held throughout the summer): great jazz concerts in the middle of the streets and parks take place every week on Thursday and Friday evenings.
If you can't live a day without sports, in La Baule you can test your strength on the golf course (there are three excellent golf courses within 5 km from the ocean), on one of the 100 tennis courts, get a dose of adrenaline with go-karts or horse racing.
Don't know how to ride? No problem! La Baule has an equestrian center where you can learn the basics of horseback riding (classes are available for adults and children over 3 years old), or just ride a horse. For example, a horseback ride on the beach will cost 30 EUR, children under 12 can ride a pony for 13 EUR.
If a trip to La Baule is planned for another period, you will not be bored anyway - the nightlife in the city is booming. The peculiarity of nightclubs, casinos, bars and restaurants of La Baule is that the best of them are located at hotels along the coast. Some of the most popular clubs along the coast are Le Theatre, Icône La Baule, After Beach Club by Icône, and Punch In Baule.
