Excursions in La Baule can be divided into several types:
Sightseeing tours in La Baule: the guide will tell you about the city’s history, local traditions, and the most fascinating landmarks. Instead of walking, you can take a ride on a tourist train (not operating from November 15 to December 15 and in January). With 10 stops at the city’s main attractions (for example, near the casino or the port), the train serves as both a sightseeing option and public transport. In July and August, it also goes to nearby suburbs — Pouliguen and Le Croisic. Ticket prices vary from €3 to €12 depending on the distance.
Bus tours outside La Baule: the most popular route leads to the suburb of Pornichet — a charming village with a deep-water marina for sailboats, the medieval town of Guérande, and Careil Castle, built between the 14th and 16th centuries. For lovers of frog legs, a visit to Lake Saint-André is highly recommended. Prices start from €20–35 per person.
Sea excursions: departing from the port of Pouliguen, the hub of coastal fishing, private boats, and yachts.
In addition, one of the most unforgettable experiences in La Baule is a flight on a sports aircraft over the bay and salt marshes (prices from €1500 for 2–3 people).
