The best way to walk around Nice is from west to east. Start from the Promenade des Anglais - you will enjoy aesthetic pleasure and can relax on the numerous benches at any time. From here you can climb up to one of the observation decks to admire the city from above. On this route you will see the famous Hotel-Museum Negresco, the Massena Museum, the Mediterranean Palace, the Albert I Garden. A sightseeing mini-train leaves every 20 minutes.
Behind the park you will find Massena Square with a pedestrian zone, along which are located large shopping centers, cafes, hotels, boutiques. If you don't want to go shopping, you can take a walk around Nice to the Museum of Modern Art (Musee d'art moderne et d'art contemporain), the Museum of Natural History (Musée d'histoire naturelle), enter the Old Town from the north, through Piazza Garibaldi.
If you want to follow the footsteps of the Ukrainian aristocracy, go to the Palace of Princess Elizabeth Kochubey, now the Museum of Fine Arts (Musée des beaux arts). It houses paintings by Poltava's Maria Bashkirtseva, works by Rodin, Claude Monet and others.
A walk in the footsteps of the Russian aristocracy should start from the Russian Orthodox Cathedral of St. Nicholas the Wonderworker. In its crypt there is the Museum of Russian Colony in Nice. Walking a little to the east, you will see the Hotel Oasis (former Russian boarding house), where A. Chekhov wrote the drama "Three Sisters". F. Tyutchev, I. Bunin, N. Gogol, M. Chagall also stayed and created here.
