The best way to plan a walking route around Nice is from west to east. Start with the Promenade des Anglais — it offers a visual delight, and you can rest anytime on one of the many benches. From here, you can climb to one of the observation decks to admire the city from above. Along this route, you’ll see the famous hotel-museum “Le Negresco,” the Masséna Museum, the Mediterranean Palace, and Albert I Garden. From the garden, a sightseeing mini-train departs every 20 minutes.
Beyond the park, you’ll find Place Masséna with its pedestrian area lined with large shopping centers, cafés, hotels, and boutiques. If shopping isn’t on your agenda, you can continue your Nice walking route to the Museum of Modern and Contemporary Art (Musée d’art moderne et d’art contemporain), the Museum of Natural History (Musée d’histoire naturelle), or enter the Old Town from the north through Garibaldi Square.
If you’d like to follow a tourist route in Nice tracing the footsteps of Ukrainian aristocracy, head to the Palace of Princess Yelyzaveta Kochubey, now the Museum of Fine Arts (Musée des beaux-arts). Here, you’ll find paintings by the Poltava-born artist Marie Bashkirtseff, as well as works by Rodin, Claude Monet, and ceramic creations by Pablo Picasso.
