The main shopping artery of the city is considered to be Avenue Jean Médecin. This pedestrian street starts at Place Masséna and stretches all the way to the train station. Along it, you’ll find Nice’s major shopping centers — Galeries Lafayette (featuring goods from over 600 brands and 10% discounts for tourists), Centre commercial Nice Etoile (over 100 stores), the perfume giant Sephora, sports retailer Go Sport, and mid-range clothing shops (you can get fully dressed — from shoes to a jacket — for about 200 EUR).
Boutiques such as Chanel, Armani, Hermes, and Escada can be found on Rue de Paradis, Avenue de Verdun, Rue de France, and Avenue de Suède. Near the airport is Nice’s largest shopping mall, CAP 3000, which houses around 150 stores including Apple, Geox, Swarovski, Yves Rocher, Lacoste, The Body Shop, and more.
For authentic local products such as textiles and soap, head to Old Nice. Shopping at the Molinard museum-boutique will introduce you to refined fragrances, while Maison Auer will treat you to its famous chocolates. Antique treasures can be found in small shops near the Old Port, at the flea market on Place Robilante (Tuesday to Saturday), or on Mondays at Cours Saleya. You can also discover unique jewelry at the Muriele Cauvre showroom and olive oil in family-owned stores like L’Olivier and Nicolas Alziari.
According to traveler reviews, shopping in Nice isn’t cheap. However, there are two main sales seasons — January and July — when you can find items discounted up to 70%. Bargain hunters can also visit Nice’s outlets and discount stores any time of year.
Most of the "degriffes" and outlet stores are located not under the city, but in Nice itself. In the center of the resort you will find B.c.b.g. Outlet (rue Longchamp, 5), Bouchet Jean-Jacques (rue du Congrès, 16), Le 8ème Sens (rue de Russie, 1) and others. Inexpensive clothes and shoes are offered by United Colors Of Benetton (avenue de Verdun, 16), Zara (avenue Jean Médecin, 10), H&M (avenue Jean Médecin, 54).
