Cost of accommodation for two in Rome
For a week (for example, 5 nights in Rome, 1 night in Florence, and 1 night in Venice) — approximately 1000–1200 EUR. This amount includes accommodation in 3- or 4-star hotels (a night in the cheapest hotel in Rome costs at least 70 EUR), breakfast (sometimes also dinner), insurance, and 5–6 sightseeing tours.
If you want to have dinner in a restaurant, expect to pay 25–40 EUR (from 60 EUR in the center). In total, the full cost of a week-long trip to Rome and other Italian cities may be at least 2000 EUR for two people, including meals, accommodation, tours, and transport.
One of the best ways to make accommodation in Rome more affordable is to stay at a campsite. These are usually located on the outskirts of the city (about an hour from the center). You can pitch your own tent here — a spot will cost around 10–20 EUR per night.
If you prefer more comfort, such as staying in a mobile home or a bungalow, expect to pay from 25–40 EUR per bed or 50–80 EUR and up for a private bungalow for two. Campsites usually offer showers, bars, laundromats, and even saunas, so your stay will be comfortable.
